Job summary

Gwent Police is seeking a dedicated Prevent Case Officer to join our Counter Terrorism and Safeguarding team. You will play a vital role in protecting communities, supporting vulnerable individuals, and helping prevent radicalisation and terrorism across Wales.

This post requires successful completion of MV/SC and DV Developed Vetting, plus a security induction. Applicants with Welsh language skills are welcome, and Positive Action information is provided to support diverse backgrounds.

Do you have experience in safeguarding and managing investigations ?

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Prevent Case Officer to join our Counter Terrorism and Safeguarding team. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in protecting communities, supporting vulnerable individuals, and helping prevent radicalisation and terrorism across Wales.

Working at the heart of the Prevent strand of the CONTEST Strategy, you will support individuals who may be vulnerable to radicalisation, work with families and partner agencies to reduce risk, and contribute to safeguarding efforts that make a genuine difference to people's lives.

This post requires the successful Candidate to successfully complete vetting to MV/SC and DV Developed Vetting Level.

The post will also require the successful completion of an additional security induction process, part of which requires pre-screening checks of nationality and foreign connections. It must be stressed that this is in addition to Force Management Vetting. Candidates must achieve both clearances to take up this post.

Employment within Counter Terrorism Policing requires applicants for the role to undertake a further security induction for which British citizenship is required. Failure to hold citizenship would preclude persons for applying for these positions.
