About the Role:

The Press Officer will play a pivotal role in shaping and disseminating the Association's messaging to the media and public. This position requires a proactive individual, capable of building strong media relationships and effectively communicating the Association's initiatives, policies, and positions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Media Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with key journalists and media outlets to promote the Association's work and perspectives.
• Press Materials: Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, statements, and other media materials that accurately reflect the Association's stance on various issues.
• Event Support: Organize and manage media briefings, and other events to promote the Association's activities and announcements.
• Content Creation: Collaborate with internal teams to produce engaging content for various platforms, including the Association's website and social media channels.
• Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of comprehensive media strategies aligned with the Association's objectives.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Educated to Degree Level in Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to produce clear and compelling content under tight deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with media representatives and internal stakeholders.
• Familiarity with media monitoring tools and the ability to analyse and report on media coverage.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of the automotive industry's current trends, challenges is desirable.
• Experience in crisis communication and managing sensitive information.
• Proficiency in using digital platforms and social media for communication purposes.
