Job summary

Reed in Leicester is seeking an experienced Press Brake Setter/Operator to join our busy sheet metal production team. You will set and operate an Amada 100-tonne press brake, read engineering drawings and ensure parts meet exacting specifications.

The role offers a permanent daytime position with regular overtime after the probationary period and a stable workload within a well-established manufacturing environment. Previous press brake experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience setting and operating press brakes.
• Experience using Amada press brakes would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of press brake tooling and set-up procedures.
• Ability to work accurately from engineering drawings.
• Experience working with sheet metal, particularly mild steel.
• Reliable and self-motivated approach to work.

Press Brake Setter/Operator

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Press Brake Setter/Operator to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Leicester.

This is a permanent position offering stable long-term employment, regular daytime hours, and the opportunity to work within a busy sheet metal manufacturing environment producing a variety of components for a consistent customer base.

The company undertakes very little batch production, meaning the role offers a varied workload with regular tooling and set-up changes, manufacturing a range of parts primarily from mild steel sheet.

The Role

As a Press Brake Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for setting and operating an Amada 100-tonne press brake with electronic controls, ensuring components are produced accurately and efficiently to specification.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting and operating an Amada 100-tonne press brake
• Working from engineering drawings and production requirements
• Carrying out tooling changes and machine set-ups
• Producing a variety of sheet metal components
• Handling and loading materials, primarily mild steel sheet

Working Hours

• Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:00pm
• Friday: 7:30am - 3:00pm
• 30-minute lunch break each day
