Workforce Staffing is recruiting a Press Brake Setter for a permanent nightshift role in Nottingham. You will set and operate CNC press brakes to produce folded components from engineering drawings, ensuring accuracy and quality to tight tolerances.

Press Brake Setter - NIGHTSHIFT

Location: Nottingham
Pay: £16.63-£18.63 per hour including the £21 per night shift allowance
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift: Nightshift

Workforce Group are currently working with a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business that is looking to recruit an experienced Press Brake Setter to join their growing production team.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled Press Brake Setter looking for a long-term position within a modern manufacturing environment, working with CNC machinery and producing high-quality components to tight tolerances.

The Role

As a Press Brake Setter, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC press brake machinery to produce accurate, high-quality folded components in line with engineering drawings, customer specifications and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC press brake machinery safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Select the correct tooling and machine settings for each job.
• Set machine parameters and make adjustments to achieve required bends and angles.
• Produce high-quality folded and bent components to specification.
• Carry out first-off inspections and regular quality checks during production.
• Use verniers, rulers, angle gauges and other measuring equipment.
• Identify and report quality issues, machine faults and production concerns.
• Work to production schedules and achieve agreed output targets.
• Maintain accurate production records and paperwork.
• Keep the work area clean, organised and safe.
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work.
• Support the wider fabrication and production team when required.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Press Brake Setter who is confident setting and operating CNC machinery and working from engineering drawings.

You should have a strong understanding of sheet metal and fabrication processes, be comfortable working to tight tolerances and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Press Brake Setter / Operator.
• Strong experience setting and operating CNC press brakes.
• Experience working with different materials and sheet thicknesses.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience selecting tooling and adjusting machine settings.
• Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.
• Good understanding of fabrication and sheet metal processes.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Reliable, hardworking and committed approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working permanent nightshift.

Desirable

• Experience with Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf or similar CNC press brakes.
• Previous sheet metal fabrication experience.
• Counterbalance FLT licence.
• Overhead crane or lifting equipment experience.
• Experience with continuous improvement or lean manufacturing.
