Job summary

Lancashire Double Glazing is seeking a reliable Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will operate the CNC press brake and related machinery, reading technical drawings and setting up dies and tools for production.

You will load and unload metal sheets, inspect finished parts with measuring tools, perform basic maintenance, and ensure safety and quality standards are met. The role is full-time with a 42-hour week and pay £15–£16 per hour DOE.

Qualifications

• Ability to read CAD drawings to interpret part specifications.
• Strong attention to quality and measurement to ensure tolerances.
• Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines in a metalworking environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the press brake and dies/tools for production.
• Read CAD drawings to understand required parts and dimensions.
• Handle loading/unloading of metal sheets and secure for bending.
• Inspect finished parts with measuring tools for accuracy.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
• Follow safety procedures to maintain a safe workplace.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production targets.
• Produce small aluminium pressings, approximately 2mm thick.

Press Brake Operator Summary

Due to Retirement, Lancashire Double Glazing have traded successfully for over 35 years and we are looking for a Reliable and Conscientious Worker to un-supervised and operate the CNC Press Brake and other machines within the department , we mainly manufacture flat and angled pressings and a few metal brackets for our sister company LDG Contracts. This role is crucial in the production of high-quality aluminium doors and windows, contributing directly to our mission of excellence in the construction sector.

Responsibilities As a Press Brake Operator

• Setup and Operation: The operator prepares the press brake for production by selecting the appropriate dies and tools, adjusting settings, and ensuring the machine is functioning correctly.
• CAD Drawing Interpretation: They read and interpret technical drawings to understand the specifications of the parts to be produced.
• Material Handling: The operator manages the loading and unloading of metal sheets, ensuring they are secured properly for bending.
• Quality Control: They inspect the finished products for accuracy and quality, using measuring tools to ensure they meet the required specifications.
• Maintenance: Regular maintenance of the press brake is crucial, so operators often perform routine checks and minor repairs to keep the machine in optimal condition.
• Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines is essential to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
• Collaboration: They must work closely with other team members, to ensure production goals are met efficiently.
• Mostly making small aluminium pressings 2mm thick
