Job summary

Zero2Five Recruitment is partnering with a high-quality independent day nursery in Hither Green, Lewisham, to recruit a passionate Preschool Room Leader for the Preschool Room in SE6.

The successful candidate will lead day-to-day room operations, plan engaging activities, embed the EYFS, and build strong relationships with children and families while safeguarding is central. A Level 3 Childcare qualification and at least 2 years' EYFS experience are required.

Qualifications

• Level 3 childcare qualification is essential.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in an early years setting.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding.
• Experience working with preschool-aged children.
• Passion for children's learning and development.
• Confident, organised and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Preschool Room.
• Lead and support the room team, creating a positive and welcoming environment.
• Plan and deliver fun, engaging activities that support children's learning and development.
• Embed the EYFS into everyday practice.
• Act as a Key Person, building strong relationships with children and families.
• Complete observations, assessments and next steps.
• Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
• Support children's independence, confidence and school readiness.
• Build positive relationships with parents and carers.
• Ensure safeguarding, health and safety procedures are followed.
• Support and guide staff within the room.
• Work closely with management to maintain high standards.
• Attend training and contribute to the continuous improvement of the nursery.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced early years professional looking to lead a room, inspire and support a team, and make a real difference to children's learning, development and wellbeing.

What We're Looking For

• Level 3 Childcare qualification (essential)
