Job summary

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Childcare/EY or equivalent.
• Experience working with children aged 3–5 in an early years setting.
• Strong knowledge of EYFS, tracking, and school readiness.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS disclosure (or willingness to obtain).
• Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the pre-school team to provide high-quality care, education, and play-based learning.
• Prepare and maintain children’s developmental records, observations, next steps, and learning journeys.
• Complete school transition reports and implement targeted support (SENCO experience welcomed).
• Design, implement, and evaluate enriching activities aligned with the EYFS curriculum.
• Fulfil key person responsibilities and foster positive partnerships with parents, carers, and external professionals.
• Lead room meetings to motivate the team, share updates, and coordinate daily tasks.
