Job summary

Leigh Academy Cherry Orchard in Ebbsfleet Garden City is seeking an experienced Preschool Manager to lead our thriving preschool provision, shaping a warm, family-centered environment and ensuring high-quality care and education for young learners.

This permanent role runs 37.5 hours weekly, term-time plus one week, with a starting salary of £26,246 per annum (£30,108 FTE). You will supervise staff, oversee admissions and SEN support, and uphold EYFS standards.

Qualifications

• A relevant Early Years qualification (Level 3 or above).
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development.
• Experience leading or managing Early Years provision.
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding, including KCSIE.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day running of the preschool, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality provision.
• Supervise, mentor and appraise staff, identifying training needs and modelling best practice.
• Maintain a warm, family-friendly environment and uphold EYFS standards.
• Oversee admissions, records, funding administration and occupancy levels.
• Ensure early identification and effective support for children with SEND, working with the SENCO and external agencies.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead in the Principal’s absence, ensuring a safe, compliant setting.
• Manage resources and maintain a clean, safe and engaging learning environment.
