Job summary

Coombe House School is seeking an experienced Premises Manager to lead the Maintenance, Domestic and trade teams across the campus and ensure high standards of service delivery. You will oversee building and grounds development, manage contractors, coordinate planned preventative maintenance, and respond promptly to site issues while supporting daily operations and safeguarding a safe teaching environment.

You will also mentor staff, plan budgets, and drive improvements in safety, accessibility

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in building, premises and grounds maintenance across trades.
• Health & Safety and COSHH qualifications essential.
• Certificates in practical skills desirable across trades.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced Premises Manager to join our growing team. As Premises Manager, you will lead and line-manage the Maintenance Team, Domestic Team, and the Painter and Decorator, ensuring high standards of service delivery across the school. You will oversee the maintenance and development of the school's buildings and grounds, manage contractors, coordinate planned preventative maintenance, and respond promptly to site issues as they arise. You will also play a key role in supporting the school's operational needs, ensuring the premises provide a safe, welcoming, and effective environment for teaching and learning.

• Hold a clean full driving licence
• Hold qualifications relating to Health & Safety and/or COSHH
• Have significant experience in building maintenance, premises management and grounds maintenance - covering all trades, Qualifications relating to Health & Safety and/or COSHH essential
• Certificates in any practical skills desirable, Significant building maintenance, premises management and grounds maintenance experience covering all trade areas (including decorating, plumbing, electrical and joinery) essential
• Considerable DIY experience and expertise at the level of minor maintenance essential
• Knowledge of Health & Safety issues in a working environment essential
• Knowledge of machinery essential
• Knowledge of security systems and access control systems essential
• Maintaining stores and equipment essential
• Experience of working in a school
• Ideally will have considerable experience and expertise (as a former tradesperson) in a specific trade
• Knowledge of working with pupils with complex special educational needs
