Job summary

The Clancy Group Limited is seeking an experienced pre-construction supervisor to support water mainlaying projects across Kent, East & West Sussex. You will work with clients and delivery teams to develop practical, buildable solutions, spotting risks early and guiding projects from concept to construction.

You'll bring utilities sector experience and a solid understanding of NEC4 contracts, with strong programme management skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in water utilities delivery or similar sector.
• Solid knowledge of NEC4 contracts.
• Experience in programme management and planning.
• Understanding of construction methodologies in live environments.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to work from Dartford office.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate main laying projects across Kent and Sussex to be ready for construction.
• Collaborate with client, design team, site managers and supervisors during pre-construction.
• Prepare work packs, delivery programmes, street work permits and construction docs before works start.
• Attend startup and stakeholder meetings to gather information and validate designs.
• Monitor progress in pre-construction and ensure smooth transition to construction.

Job description

As a proud partner to South East Water, we are looking for an experienced pre-construction supervisor to join our team, supporting the safe and successful delivery of water mainlaying projects across Kent, East & West Sussex. In this role, you'll help shape projects from concept to construction, working closely with clients and delivery teams to develop practical, buildable solutions. You'll spot risks early, solve challenges proactively and keep projects moving through pre-construction with confidence. Drawing on your utilities experience, ideally gained with a delivery contractor, you'll bring a strong understanding of how to turn design solutions into successful, safe and efficient project outcomes. Here are some of the activities you will be involved in…

• Co-ordinating main laying projects across Kent, East & West Sussex, ensuring schemes are planned, resourced and ready for the construction stage.
• Working closely with our client and their design team, along with our Site Managers and Supervisors to develop practical and buildable solutions during the pre-construction phase.
• Supporting the preparation of work packs, delivery programmes, street work permits and construction documentation required before works commence on site.
• Attending initial startup meetings and stakeholder meetings to gather information, validate designs and ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
• Monitoring project progress through pre-construction, providing updates to key stakeholders and ensuring a smooth transition into the construction phase
  You have experience within the water, wastewater or wider utilities sector, together with a strong appreciation of construction methodologies, project sequencing and working within live operational environments. You'll also have a solid understanding of programme management and NEC4 contracts, with the ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively with project teams, clients and stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes. A full UK driving licence is essential, as is the ability to work from our Dartford office daily.
