Job summary

Bouygues Construction is seeking a senior readiness lead for the Sizewell C project in the UK. You will coordinate enabling works, earthworks, and interface across program, engineering, and construction teams to ensure timely mobilization and delivery.

Responsibilities include developing readiness plans, managing cross-functional activities, and monitoring risks. A Civil Engineering background, CSCS, and membership in a recognized institution are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• CSCS card (valid).
• CEFR level B2 English or higher.
• Professional membership in ICE, APM, or CIOB.
• Experience in major infrastructure or nuclear projects is required.
• Experience in preconstruction, readiness, or mobilization roles.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination, and readiness activities for enabling and earthworks within the Civil Works Alliance at Sizewell C.
• Act as the interface between program, engineering, construction, commercial, procurement, permitting, environmental, and supply chain teams.
• Develop and manage readiness plans and monitor risks to ensure seamless mobilization.
• Oversee site establishment, earthworks, utilities diversions, access roads, and environmental mitigation.
• Ensure HSSE compliance including CDM Regulations and nuclear industry standards.
• Provide governance by establishing readiness reporting and performance indicators.

Job description

Bouygues are part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance) and as theCWA we will support the building for Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. What You Will Do

• Lead the planning, coordination, and readiness activities for enabling and earthworks operations within the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) at Sizewell C.
• Act as the critical interface between program, engineering, construction, commercial, procurement, permitting, environmental, and supply chain teams to ensure all prerequisites for delivery are met.
• Develop and manage readiness plans , coordinate cross-functional activities, and monitor risks and constraints to ensure seamless mobilization and execution.
• Oversee site establishment, temporary works, utilities diversions, access roads, environmental mitigation, and earthworks operations .
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards , including CDM Regulations, nuclear industry standards, and SZC policies .
• Provide governance and assurance by establishing readiness reporting, dashboards, and performance indicators for senior management.

Relevant degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

• Professional membership of a recognized institution (eg, ICE, APM, CIOB ).
• CSCS card (in date).
• CEFR Level B2 or above in English (if applicable).

Experience :

• Significant experience in major infrastructure, nuclear, rail, highways, energy, or large-scale construction projects .
• Proven track record in preconstruction, construction readiness, or mobilization leadership roles .
• Experience managing enabling works and earthworks programs on complex projects.
• Strong understanding of construction delivery, engineering processes, and project lifecycle management .
• Knowledge of earthworks, temporary works, construction logistics, and enabling infrastructure .

Skills :

• Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills .
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and interfaces .
• Commercial and procurement awareness.
• Risk management and mitigation planning expertise.
• Strong organizational and collaborative skills .

Desirable :

• Project Management qualification (eg, APM PMQ, Prince 2 ).
