Job summary

Bouygues Travaux Publics is seeking a Preconstruction Manager for Sizewell C in the UK. The role focuses on leading readiness and mobilization for enabling and earthworks, coordinating across engineering, construction, procurement, permitting, and environmental teams to ensure prerequisites for delivery are met.

The position requires a Civil Engineering degree, professional membership, CSCS, and strong English. You will oversee HSSE compliance and deliver readiness reporting to senior management.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional membership in a recognised institution (ICE/APM/CIOB).
• CSCS card (in date).
• CEFR Level B2 or above in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination, and readiness for enabling and earthworks within the CWA at Sizewell C.
• Interface across program, engineering, construction, commercial, procurement, permitting, environmental and supply chain teams.
• Develop and manage readiness plans; coordinate cross-functional activities and monitor risks.
• Oversee site establishment, temporary works, utilities diversions, access roads, and earthworks operations.
• Ensure compliance with HSSE, CDM Regulations, nuclear standards, and SZC policies.
• Provide governance with readiness reporting, dashboards, and management indicators.

What You Will Do

• Lead the planning, coordination, and readiness activities for enabling and earthworks operations within the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) at Sizewell C.
• Act as the critical interface between program, engineering, construction, commercial, procurement, permitting, environmental, and supply chain teams to ensure all prerequisites for delivery are met.
• Develop and manage readiness plans , coordinate cross-functional activities, and monitor risks and constraints to ensure seamless mobilization and execution.
• Oversee site establishment, temporary works, utilities diversions, access roads, environmental mitigation, and earthworks operations .
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards , including CDM Regulations, nuclear industry standards, and SZC policies .
• Provide governance and assurance by establishing readiness reporting, dashboards, and performance indicators for senior management.

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional membership of a recognized institution (eg, ICE, APM, CIOB ).
• CSCS card (in date).
• CEFR Level B2 or above in English (if applicable).

Experience

• Significant experience in major infrastructure, nuclear, rail, highways, energy, or large-scale construction projects .
• Proven track record in preconstruction, construction readiness, or mobilization leadership roles .
• Experience managing enabling works and earthworks programs on complex projects.
• Strong understanding of construction delivery, engineering processes, and project lifecycle management .
• Knowledge of earthworks, temporary works, construction logistics, and enabling infrastructure .

Skills

• Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills .
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and interfaces .
• Commercial and procurement awareness.
• Risk management and mitigation planning expertise.
• Strong organizational and collaborative skills .

Desirable

• Project Management qualification (eg, APM PMQ, Prince 2 ).
