Job summary

Sizewell C Company is seeking an Agent for Delivery/Enabling and Earthworks to lead a multi-disciplinary team on the Sizewell Suffolk site. You will manage the enabling and earthworks scope, coordinating design, planning, procurement and execution with the Civil Works Alliance.

The role requires strong leadership, safety focus, and the ability to work unsociable hours to meet programme deadlines. CSCS and SMSTS are desirable qualifications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, planning, procurement and execution of early SZC civils scope.
• Coordinate enabling works such as SSSI crossing, dewatering, and sea defence.
• Ensure safety, quality and timely delivery in line with programme.
• Communicate progress and issues with the client and partners.

Agent - Delivery / Enabling and Earthworks - Sizewell - Suffolk Site based Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C

As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.This role will be within theEnabling and Earthwork Section.

What will you do?

The purpose of the role is to provide management, leadership and control of a multi-disciplinary team comprising Sub Agents, Section Engineers, Site Engineers & Foremen. The scope of the Enabling Works and Earthwork is the design, planning, procurement and execution of some of the early SZC civils scope including – SSSI Crossing, ground
improvements, dewatering, diaphragm walls, sea defence, marine bulk import facility (MBIF), beach landing facility (BLF), construction drainage outfall and bulk Earthworks.

• Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately. Suggests and implements improvements to systems and capable of stopping operations when necessary.
• Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity; experienced at encouraging direct reports to do the same and managing a team to ensure tasks are carried out effectively and key messages cascaded
• Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights as required by the programme
• Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
• Excellent team player and leader, able to work competently and independently without supervision
• Able and willing to make decisions following consideration of options based on best available information; track record of solution orientated approach to resolve issues
• Strong communication skills with good interpersonal and influencing skills
• Good report writing skills
• Proficient IT skills
• Excellent role model for team and demonstrates required behaviours to align to business, project and team objectives

Essential

• HNC/HND/Degree in a civil engineering discipline would be preferable and/or relevant Site
  Experience with Earthworks / Civils and or RC structures
• Setting out and BIM experience
• Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card.
• SMSTS qualified

Desirable

• Achieved or working towards professional accreditation (eg ICE, IHT)
• Achieved or working towards APMQ
