Job summary

Lotus Cars, Norwich, is seeking a Welder to join our Manufacturing – Lotus Fabrication team. You will produce high-quality fabricated assemblies using MIG/MAG, Spot and TIG welding, reading engineering drawings, and adhering to strict quality and safety standards.

This role focuses on precision fabrication within a fast-paced automotive environment, with opportunities for career progression and skills development at a world-renowned performance car brand.

Qualifications

• Welding and fabrication qualification required.
• Experience in general fabrication and welding.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of welding equipment and fabrication processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Flexible approach and willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Weld fabricated assemblies using MIG/MAG, Spot and TIG welding processes.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions and manufacturing processes.
• Set up welding equipment and select appropriate programmes.
• Inspect and test completed assemblies before move to next stage.
• Use workshop equipment including grinders, drills, power saws and other fabrication tools.
• Complete production documentation and batch records.
• Identify maintenance concerns and carry out first-line problem solving where appropriate.
• Work safely and maintain a clean, organized work area per Health & Safety requirements.
• Meet quality, safety and production targets while supporting continuous improvement.
