Job summary

Frank G. Gates Limited in Stevenage is seeking a Vehicle Preparation Technician to join the Internal Preparation Centre team. The role involves inspecting, preparing and finishing vehicles to high standards, with a 40-hour week, and a starting salary of £36,192 plus a £2,000 joining bonus.

Applicants should hold an NVQ level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent), have a full UK driving licence and a proactive, detail‑driven mindset. Manufacturer training is provided.

Qualifications

• Hold a minimum NVQ level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Proactive attitude to working quickly and efficiently.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections, repairs and services to the highest standards within scheduled times.
• Ensure all Vehicle Health Checks and Cit Now videos are completed accurately.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• Take responsibility for ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
• Replace components, parts, lubricants and consumables and record usage.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
• Maintain accurate records of work carried out.
• Adhere to strict Health and safety guidelines at all times.
