Job summary

Gates of Woodford is seeking a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join the team. This full-time permanent role is 40 hours per week, with a realistic OTE of £38,000 – £55,000 depending on experience and productivity, plus a £2,000 joining bonus and an uncapped bonus scheme.

Key duties include inspections, repairs and services to high standards, completing Vehicle Health Checks, recording usage, and adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ level qualification (or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• MOT Card preferable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Making sure all necessary Vehicle Health Checks are completed accurately.
• Take responsibility for ensuring all jobs are completed to a good standard.

Job description

We are currently seeking an Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join the team at Gates of Woodford.

£2,000 Joining Bonus*

This is a full-time permanent role, where you will be working 40 hours a week. We offer a competitive basic salary with an OTE of £38,000 - £55,000 (depending on your experience and productivity level), plus a generous uncapped bonus scheme with opportunities for overtime for those who wish to work additional hours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out inspections, repairs and services to the highest of standards within scheduled times, meeting company and franchise standards.
• Making sure all necessary Vehicle Health Checks are completed accurately.
• Take responsibility for ensuring all jobs are completed to a good standard.
• Replace components, parts, lubricants and consumables and record usage.
• Adhere to strict Health and safety guidelines at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum NVQ level qualification (or equivalent).
• The capability to work within a highly successful team.
• MOT Card preferable but not essential.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.

Working Hours: 40 hrs per week, Monday - Friday with Saturday's tri-weekly

Salary: Starting at £36,000, uncapped

Starting bonus of £2,000 (gross) is applicable to new starting Vehicle Service Technicians at Gates from the 1st October 2023 only. The Vehicle Service Technician should not currently be employed by a Ford dealer. Once a job offer has been made and accepted, and they start work with us, an introductory commission of £1,000 will be paid to them upon completion of one months’ service, with a further £1,000 payment on successful completion of their probationary period. Starting bonus payments for rejoining Motor Vehicle Technicians will be at the discretion of a Managing Director.
