Job summary

Recruit Mint Ltd in Peterborough is seeking an experienced Toolmaker to work on both manual and CNC machining. The role involves manufacturing, modifying and maintaining precision tooling and engineered components to tight tolerances.

You will read engineering drawings, inspect parts with precision equipment and ensure quality and on-time delivery. The position offers day shifts with overtime opportunities and a focus on varied, non-repetitive engineering work within a stable environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Toolmaker, Precision Machinist or similar
• Strong manual or CNC machining skills
• Ability to work accurately from engineering drawings
• Experience producing components to close tolerances
• Good understanding of materials, machining methods and workshop practices
• Confidence using precision measuring and inspection equipment
• Ability to work independently and solve practical engineering problems
• Reliable and quality-focused approach

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, modify, repair and maintain precision tooling and engineered components.
• Operate manual or CNC milling, turning and other machine tools.
• Produce one-off and small-batch components to tight tolerances.
• Carry out tooling modifications, repairs and refurbishment work.
• Set and operate machinery safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
• Inspect completed components using precision measuring equipment.
• Identify and resolve machining, tooling and dimensional issues.
