Job summary

Partnership Recruiting in Fort William is seeking a practical and technically minded Engineering Maintenance Technician to join a well-established industrial business. This hands-on role focuses on inspecting, maintaining and preparing cutting tools and equipment used in a busy production environment.

Full training will be provided to enable you to carry out all aspects of the role to the required standard. Experience in tool rooms, engineering, manufacturing or related fields is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Technically minded and mechanically capable, with a hands-on approach.
• Experience in tool rooms, engineering, manufacturing, or production environments desirable.
• Training provided to cover all aspects of the role.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair industrial cutting tools and saw blades.
• Replace blades and components as needed.
• Sharpen, level, and tension blades to specification.
• Follow scheduled tool changes and preventative maintenance programmes.
• Inspect and measure equipment to meet tolerances.
• Diagnose wear and performance issues and repair accordingly.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production to resolve tooling issues.
• Prepare and provide tools in line with production needs.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, housekeeping and health & safety.
