Job summary

Next Level Talent Group's client near Birmingham is seeking a Tool Room Operative to join a busy shop floor. You will support day-to-day production with manufacture of new tooling and repairs, working with a team to keep production moving to close tolerance standards.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in press and shear tool manufacture, with CNC and manual machining skills, reading engineering drawings, and a proactive, safety-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Experienced in press and shear tool manufacture, maintenance and fault finding.
• Experience with CNC and manual machining including surface grinding, milling, turning, fixturing and wire EDM.
• Read and understand engineering drawings and work to specified tolerances; well organised and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Operate Toolroom equipment to a high standard.
• Operate a Forklift Truck and Overhead Crane to assist daily duties and tooling delivery.
• Ensure manufacture is covered in a timely manner so that try-out dates are met.
• Ensure breakdowns are covered to keep production downtime to a minimum.
• Aim for a right-first-time approach to all work.
• Follow instructions and work to set procedures.
• Seek continuous improvement related to KPIs and overall performance.
