Job summary

Recruit 2 You Ltd in South Normanton, DE55, is seeking a Tool Room Engineer / Toolmaker to manufacture new tooling from engineering drawings, repair and modify existing tooling, and support production with urgent tooling breakdowns.

You will operate manual milling machines, centre lathes, surface and cylindrical grinders, and apply EDM spark erosion and CNC milling where required, ensuring high precision and quality in every tool produced.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a Tool Room or Toolmaking environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience manufacturing, repairing, and maintaining production tooling.
• Strong machining skills using manual tool room equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture new tooling from engineering drawings.
• Repair, service, and modify existing tooling as required.
• Operate manual milling machines, centre lathes, surface grinders, and cylindrical grinders.
• Use EDM spark erosion equipment and CNC milling machinery where required.
• Read and interpret technical and engineering drawings accurately.
• Inspect finished tooling to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Support production with tooling breakdowns and urgent repairs.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe tool room environment.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime.
