Job summary

Pearce Signs in Nottingham is looking for a Sheet Metal Fabricator to shape and assemble sheet metal components into finished products. You will read blueprints, operate cutting and forming machinery, weld components, finish surfaces, and ensure high-quality output.

You will work within a production team, collaborating with designers and engineers while maintaining safety and accurate production records.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Fabricator or similar role.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of metalworking techniques: cutting, bending, welding and finishing.
• Familiarity with fabrication tools and equipment such as press brakes, shears and welders.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Sheet Metal Cutting: operate shears, laser, plasma or waterjet to size sheet metal per drawings.
• Metal Bending and Forming: set up and operate press brakes to shape metal.
• Welding and Joining: MIG/TIG or spot welding to assemble parts.
• Finishing and Grinding: smooth and deburr surfaces for quality finish.
• Quality Control: inspect parts for accuracy and adherence to specs.
• Material Handling: safely move metal materials and finished components.
• Tool Maintenance: perform routine maintenance and report issues.
• Safety Compliance: wear PPE and maintain a safe workshop.
• Collaboration: coordinate with designers and engineers to meet timelines.
• Documentation: maintain production logs and material usage records.
