Job summary

BPA in Daventry is seeking an experienced Production Controller to own job scheduling, production coordination and the smooth flow of work within our precision engineering facility.

You will input and monitor jobs in our production management system, plan activities to meet deadlines and ensure orders satisfy customer specifications and quality standards. The role demands proactive coordination across departments and a calm, results-driven approach.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in production control, production planning, scheduling or manufacturing coordination.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows.
• Experience using ERP, MRP or production management systems.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple jobs and changing priorities.
• Experience maintaining accurate job records, production schedules and manufacturing documentation.
• Confident communicating with different departments to ensure work progresses efficiently.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a deadline-driven manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Raise, input and maintain manufacturing jobs and works orders in the production management system.
• Plan, schedule and coordinate production activities to meet delivery deadlines.
• Monitor progress and identify delays or bottlenecks.
• Ensure orders comply with specifications, technical requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with Machine Shop, CAM, Quality, Assembly and Purchasing to optimize workflow.
• Review schedules and adjust priorities as needed.
• Keep job information and records accurate and up-to-date.
• Track progress, lead times and delivery commitments and escalate issues.
• Support continuous improvement to boost efficiency and on-time delivery.
