Job summary

JRS Associates LTD in the UK is recruiting an experienced Production Controller to own production progress in a busy precision engineering environment. You will monitor WIP, chase progress, and escalate issues before customer delivery dates are affected.

This permanent, day-shift role offers £40,000+ per year, with salary negotiable based on experience, and excellent long-term progression opportunities in production control.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Production Controller or similar role in aerospace/precision engineering.
• Experience monitoring WIP and works orders with ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities; confident escalating delays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor production schedules and customer delivery dates.
• Track WIP throughout the manufacturing process and chase progress.
• Identify delays and bottlenecks and escalate issues to protect delivery dates.
• Maintain accurate ERP / MRP information and review works orders.
• Work with planning, production, purchasing and despatch teams; attend production meetings.

JRS Associates have partnered up with an established precision engineering manufacturer to recruit an experienced Production Controller.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong production planning, expediting and manufacturing control experience to take ownership of production progress across a busy engineering environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring WIP, chasing progress, identifying potential delays and ensuring production issues are communicated and acted upon before customer delivery dates are affected.

The Successful Production Controller – Package:

• £40,000+ per annum

The Successful Production Controller – Responsibilities:

• Monitor production schedules and customer delivery dates
• Track WIP throughout the manufacturing process
• Chase production departments for progress
• Identify potential delays and bottlenecks
• Escalate issues before delivery dates are affected
• Monitor material and subcontract availability
• Maintain accurate ERP / MRP information
• Review works orders and priorities
• Attend production meetings
• Provide accurate progress updates to management
• Work closely with planning, production, purchasing and despatch
• Support improvements in OTIF performance

The Successful Production Controller – Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Production Controller, Production Planner, Expeditor or similar
• Experience within aerospace, precision engineering, CNC machining, fabrication or high-quality manufacturing
• Strong understanding of production scheduling
• Experience monitoring WIP and works orders
• ERP / MRP experienceStrong communication and organisational skills
• Confident challenging departments when production dates are slipping
• Able to identify problems and drive actions through to completion
• AS9100 experience would be highly advantageous
