Job summary

Gardner Denver in Redditch is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to precisely construct high-pressure compressor sub-assemblies and blocks, meeting strict specifications and customer demands.

You will read general arrangement drawings, assemble diverse sub-assemblies, and develop custom engineered compressor sets with minimal instruction. The role emphasises safety, quality, and lean improvement within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Ability to read and interpret general arrangement drawings and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Build high pressure, reciprocating compressor blocks to high standards within time frames.
• Assemble a wide variety of sub-assemblies for compressors and aftermarket use.
• Construct custom engineered compressor sets with limited instruction.
• Read and interpret drawings and instructions to ensure quality.
• Adhere to Health and Safety policies and requirements.
• Assist in problem solving and repair compressors after test failures.
• Work in a lean environment and drive continual improvement.
• Undertake any other duties as reasonably required.
