Job summary

Refeyn seeks a Manufacturing Technician for a six-month contract to assemble, test, repair and refurbish advanced instrumentation in Oxford. The role involves electronics box-build, optical alignment, data collection and continuous improvement tasks.

Responsibilities include producing harnesses, sub-systems, and optical components, following detailed work instructions, and documenting results. On-site, with opportunities to improve processes and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• University degree in relevant discipline or relevant industry experience.
• Experience in laboratory environment with PPE and handling of lasers and optics.
• Ability to assemble electronic subsystems and fault finding.
• Experience with high precision and delicate parts handling, optics and laser use.
• Experience testing high-technology equipment prior to shipping.

Responsibilities

• Producing electrical harnesses.
• Assembling electronic sub-systems.
• Assembling and aligning optical components.
• Final Acceptance Testing (FAT) routines are bespoke to Refeyn and training will be given.
• Producing equipment to detailed Work Instructions, assembly instructions and documented test routines.
• Implement lean manufacturing techniques to ensure economical processes.
• Coordinate bills of materials, procurement and stock holding for forward planning.
• Drive continuous improvement of operations facilities, tools and techniques.
• Document protocols, in-process results, issues and potential improvements; archive test results and KPIs.
