Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Manual Turner or in a similar machining role
• Strong experience operating manual lathes
• Ability to read and work from technical engineering drawings
• Good understanding of machining processes, tooling and materials
• Experience producing components to tight tolerances
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team

Responsibilities

• Operating manual lathes to produce precision components
• Setting and operating machinery safely and efficiently
• Reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings
• Producing components to required specifications and tolerances
• Selecting appropriate tools and materials for each job
• Measuring and inspecting finished components to ensure quality
• Carrying out general maintenance and housekeeping of machinery and the work area
• Working to production deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy
• Following all relevant Health & Safety procedures
