Job summary

Quay Personnel's client, an engineering company in the Manchester area, seeks a skilled Manual Turner to join on a permanent basis. You will operate manual lathes in the workshop to produce parts for breakdowns and refurbishments with high accuracy.

You must thread cut, cut tapers, apply bearing tolerances and cut circlip grooves to ensure replacement parts meet spec. On occasions you will visit sites around Manchester to measure up and manufacture parts, so a driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Must have good manual turning skills and be able to thread cut, cut tapers, use bearing tolerances, cut circlip grooves to achieve accurate replacement parts.
• Occasionally visit sites around Manchester to measure up and manufacture replacement parts; a driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathes in the workshop to produce parts for breakdowns and refurbishments.
• Manufacture replacement parts using specified material to high tolerances.
