Job summary

HAWK3 Talent Solutions in Worcester is recruiting a Manual Machinist / Toolroom Machinist for a permanent, full-time role. The position offers a four-day week: Monday to Thursday, 6.30am–4.30pm, with duties centered on producing accurate components using conventional machinery from engineering drawings.

We seek applicants with strong traditional toolroom experience, able to read detailed drawings, hold tight tolerances, and handle milling, turning, drilling and related workshop tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Ability to work with tight tolerances and precise measurements.
• Strong practical problem-solving skills in a manual machining context.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathes, milling machines, drills, grinders and related equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Maintain tolerances and surface finishes.
• Plan machining sequences and select tooling, speeds and feeds.
• Produce one-off and small-batch components.
• Use micrometers, verniers, gauges to verify work.
• Inspect completed work to meet specifications.
• Identify solutions to machining challenges and assist with 5S and quality initiatives.
