Job summary

Moog in Wolverhampton is seeking a Jig Bore Operator to set up, operate, and maintain DeVlieg and Genevoise jig boring machines. You will read engineering drawings, maintain tight tolerances, and ensure components meet aerospace quality standards.

You will work on heavy fixtures, conduct first-off and in-process inspections, document production activity, and collaborate with machinists, quality and engineering teams to hit delivery targets and uphold safety and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating DeVlieg and Genevoise jig boring machines.
• Strong background in precision machining, toolmaking, or manufacturing environments.
• Ability to work to tight tolerances and read engineering drawings (GD&T).
• Proficient with precision inspection and measuring equipment.
• Commitment to aerospace quality standards and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate DeVlieg and Genevoise jig boring machines to manufacture precision components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and geometric tolerances.
• Position, align, and secure workpieces with fixtures.
• Perform boring, drilling, reaming, and milling to tight tolerances.
• Conduct first-off and in-process inspections with precision tools.
• Maintain production and inspection records.
• Collaborate with machinists, quality, and engineering teams.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures and housekeeping.
