Job summary

Wärtsilä is seeking a Machinist Grinder for the Havant site to operate grinding, milling, turning and lapping machines, producing components for seal assemblies and spares from Inconell, stainless steels, carbon and composites.

You will need 5+ years in an engineering environment, experience with grinding machines, tool room work, and assembly/fitment, with a focus on reading drawings and working to tight tolerances. OTIF targets and safe, accurate work are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with grinding machines and tool room environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• 5+ years in an engineering/manufacturing setting.
• Able to assemble and fit components to tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Operate grinding, milling, turning and lapping machines.
• Machine parts from materials such as Inconell, stainless steel, carbon and composites.
• Work to tight tolerances and use measuring equipment.
• Follow engineering drawings and processes.
• Collaborate with ops teams to meet OTIF targets.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
• Maintain safety according to H&S procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
