Job summary

Latitude Recruitment is seeking a Grinder for a busy engineering team in Dorset, offering a permanent role with overtime and a clear progression path. You will perform precision grinding and honing, work from technical drawings, and ensure tight tolerances using micrometers, verniers and gauges.

Applicants should have completed an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent vocational training with a solid grasp of engineering principles and metrology.

Qualifications

• Requires engineering apprenticeship or equivalent vocational training.
• Experience in grinding, honing, milling, turning or CNC is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and precision measurement required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out precision grinding and honing operations.
• Work from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Use micrometers, verniers and gauges for measurements.
• Work accurately to tight tolerances.
• Inspect components to ensure quality standards are met.
• Learn and develop new machining techniques.
