Job summary

Motion Industries in Warwick is seeking a Fabricator to interpret blueprints, set up fabricating machines, and assemble parts with high precision. Under supervision, you will lay out, align, and weld components, inspect pieces, and ensure conformance to specifications according to engineering drawings.

You will operate brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses, and you may weld in various positions.

Qualifications

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
Skill in measuring work pieces to exact tolerances.
Fundamental math skills for dimensional analysis.

Responsibilities

Lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to assembly using rulers and calipers.
Examine work pieces for defects and measure to ensure conformance with specifications.
Verify conformance using squares, rulers, and tapes.
Set up and operate fabricating machines (brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, drill presses).
Position, align, fit and weld parts to form units per blueprints; tack-weld if needed.
Weld components in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead).
Operate safety equipment and maintain safe work habits.
Keep work area clean.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Study engineering drawings to determine materials and task sequences.
