Job summary

Gi Group in Coventry is seeking an experienced CNC Setter Operator to join a high‑precision manufacturing team. The role focuses on setting and operating CNC turning machines, reading engineering drawings, and ensuring components meet tight tolerances.

You will work closely with engineering and quality teams, perform routine machine maintenance, monitor processes and maintain a clean, safe workspace. Milling skills are desirable for the role.

Qualifications

• CNC turning experience in a precision engineering environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Knowledge of tooling and machining processes.
• Desirable familiarity with CNC Milling.
• Proficient in setting and operating CNC lathes.

Responsibilities

• CNC machine setting and operating CNC turning machines from engineering drawings.
• Perform precision quality checks to ensure components meet tight tolerances.
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and daily checks.
• Monitor machining processes and adjust to optimise output.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
