Job summary

Holt Engineering Ltd in Portsmouth is seeking an experienced CNC Turner to join a precision engineering team. You will set and operate CNC lathes with Fanuc controls, carry out tool changes and offset adjustments, and perform first-off inspections to ensure components meet tight tolerances.

You will read engineering drawings, make minor programme edits, and maintain quality throughout the machining process.

Qualifications

• Experience as CNC Turner or CNC Setter.
• Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls.
• Ability to set CNC lathes independently.
• Read engineering drawings.
• Use precision measuring equipment and check tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC lathes using Fanuc controls.
• Carry out machine set-ups, tool changes and offset adjustments.
• Make minor programme edits where required.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Machine components to required dimensions and tolerances.
• Use precision measuring equipment to check component quality.
• Carry out first-off inspections and in-process checks.
• Monitor machining performance and adjust settings as needed.
• Complete production and quality documentation.
• Maintain safe working practices and good housekeeping.
• Work with the wider production team to meet output and delivery requirements.
