Job summary

Holt Engineering in Portsmouth, Hampshire is seeking an experienced CNC Turner to join our precision manufacturing team. The role focuses on setting and operating CNC lathes with Fanuc controls, reading engineering drawings, and maintaining tight tolerances to produce high‑quality components.

• Experience setting and operating CNC lathes with Fanuc controls.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC lathes using Fanuc controls.
• Carry out machine set-ups, tool changes and offset adjustments.
• Make minor programme edits where required.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Machine components to the required dimensions and tolerances.
• Use precision measuring equipment to check component quality.
• Carry out first-off inspections and in-process checks.
• Monitor machining performance and adjust settings where necessary.
• Complete production and quality documentation.
• Maintain safe working practices and good housekeeping.
• Work with the wider production team to meet output and delivery requirements.
