Job summary

Placr Recruitment is recruiting an experienced CNC Setter/Operator (Miller) to join an established engineering and manufacturing business in Lower Dicker, East Sussex. The role involves setting and operating CNC milling machines, reading engineering drawings and ensuring high-precision components are produced to tight tolerances.

You will work with ISO and conversational programs and controls such as FANUC, Heidenhain and Siemens.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with FANUC, Heidenhain and Siemens controls.
• Good understanding of tooling, materials and machining processes.
• Attention to detail and quality-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC milling machines.
• Set and run proven and unproven programs.
• Adjust work and tool coordinates and correct machining errors.
• Set tooling and produce accurate first-off components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Check components meet specifications and quality standards.
• Understand tool/material behavior during machining.
• Identify potential machining problems before they arise.
• Move between machines as required.
• Carry out basic preventative maintenance on machinery.
• Meet production deadlines with high quality and accuracy.
