Job summary

Morson Group is seeking a skilled Bench Joiner for a busy workshop environment in the United Kingdom. You will perform bench joinery tasks, interpret engineering drawings, and measure components with precision to produce quality parts from hardwoods, softwoods and plywood.

Candidates with NVQ Level 2/3 in Joinery or Carpentry or equivalent and prior workshop experience are preferred. Training on machinery can be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 in Joinery or Carpentry or equivalent
• Previous bench joinery/workshop experience preferred
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong measuring, marking-out and calculation skills
• Experience with hardwoods, softwoods and plywood

Responsibilities

• Carry out general bench joinery and woodworking tasks
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Accurately measure, mark out and calculate dimensions
• Work with hardwoods, softwoods and plywood
• Operate portable and fixed woodworking machinery safely and efficiently
• Use routers, trimmers, biscuit joiners, chop saws, rack saws, band saws and milling machines
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail
• Work independently and as part of a team
