Job summary

Morris & Spottiswood is seeking a skilled Bench Joiner for our Whitstable factory-based role in Kent. The ideal candidate will carry out joinery to high quality standards in line with technical designs and project timelines.

We require NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent, proven joinery experience, and strong attention to detail. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and able to work independently in a workshop environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery (or City & Guilds equivalent).
• Proven joinery experience.
• Competence in using joinery tools and machinery.
• Attention to detail with high workmanship standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual and with a strong work ethic.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with the joinery team and stakeholders.
• Follow health and safety guidelines and wear PPE.
• Inspect final products for defects and ensure quality finishes.
• Occasionally travel to client sites as required.
• Adapt to changing work conditions and project demands.
• Undertake mandatory training as required.
