Job summary

IMI plc is seeking an experienced assembler/tester to build and validate complex valve assemblies, including GA drawing interpretation and pressure testing. You will conduct sub-assembly work, record data, and ensure finished products meet quality standards.

The role requires reading technical drawings, fault diagnosis, and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification such as Apprenticeship, NVQ 2/3 or HNC Eng.
• Ability to read GA designs, procedures and specs and validate data during build and test.
• Proven experience with pressure testing (air, fluid, gas).
• Extensive valve assembly experience to defined quality standards.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently within specs.
• Proficient in Word and Excel; PC literate.

Responsibilities

• Build to GA drawing requirements.
• Perform fault diagnosis and rectify.
• Test in accordance with GA drawings and procedures.
• Finish products ready for inspection/packing; labeling, cleaning.
• Machine sub-assemblies to required specifications and quality.
• Use measuring equipment to check components to the required specifications and tolerances.
• Undertake soldering where required.
• Complete qualifications and re-qualifications as appropriate.
• Coil winding for typically non flow line type products.
• Record accurate data using spread sheets and official documents when required.
• Ensure workplace area is clean and tidy at commencement and end of shift.
• Perform other such duties commensurate with the nature and level of the post as may be reasonably required.
