Job summary

IMI plc is seeking a skilled assembler/tester for valve-related products. The role involves building to GA drawings, performing fault diagnosis, testing to specifications, and preparing finished items for inspection and packing.

You will engage in training others, handle sub-assemblies, use precision measuring tools, and maintain data records. A strong engineering background and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• A relevant engineering qualification, e.g. Apprenticeship, NVQ 2 or 3, HNC Eng or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret GA designs, procedures and technical requirements.
• Proven extensive experience and understanding of working with pressure testing using air, fluids or gas.
• Extensive experience in complex valve assembly to defined quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Build to GA drawing requirements.
• Perform fault diagnosis and rectify.
• Test in accordance with GA drawings, procedures and technical requirements.
• Finish products ready for inspection/packing including labelling, cleaning etc.
• Clean components and assemblies.
• Assist in training and knowledge/skills transfer to new employees.
• Machine sub-assemblies to required specifications and quality.
• Use measuring equipment to check components to specified tolerances.
• Undertake soldering where required.
• Record accurate data using spread sheets and official documents when required.
• Ensure workplace area is clean and tidy at commencement and end of shift.
• Perform other duties commensurate with the role.
