Job summary

Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services UK is seeking a skilled Manual Turner to join our aircraft MRO team. You will operate manual lathes to tight tolerances, producing precision components from detailed drawings while maintaining high workmanship and rigorous safety standards.

You will keep your PER, uphold 5S workspace discipline, and may assist in training colleagues. The role is a 37.5-hour shift-based position with occasional overtime and requires fluent English and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience operating manual lathes to fine tolerances.
• Machine shop technology training and strong machining knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) and fluent written and spoken English.
• Experience with manual/CNC milling and grinding is desirable.
• Able to work independently with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible to work rotating shifts and overtime when required.
• Willing to complete mandatory training and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathes to fine tolerances, producing precision aircraft components from technical drawings.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship with a focus on quality, safety and environmental procedures.
• Maintain your PER, keep your work area to 5S standards, and may support training of colleagues.
• This is a 37.5-hour shift-based role with occasional overtime.
