Job summary

Staffline in Bristol is seeking a time-served Manual Machinist/Turner to join a skilled machine shop. You will work on manual machines, take pride in precision engineering, and contribute to high-quality components.

Key duties include operating and setting up manual centre lathes, turning, milling and fitting to tight tolerances, reading drawings, and inspecting parts with precision tools. The role rewards attention to detail and teamwork in a safe, organised workshop.

Qualifications

Time-served Turner or Toolmaker with manual machining experience.
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Accurate measurement and inspection of parts with precision tools.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving.
Safe and organized with teamwork spirit.
Desirable: qualifications or apprenticeships related to machining.

Responsibilities

Operate and set up manual centre lathes to produce high-quality, precision components.
Perform turning, milling, and fitting operations to tight tolerances.
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Measure and inspect finished parts using precision tools to ensure they meet quality standards.
Maintain machines and equipment to ensure optimum performance and reliability.
