Working closely with sales leadership, solution architects, partners, services teams and the Workplace CTO, the Presales Solution Leader will help customers address business challenges through innovative, commercially viable and deliverable technology solutions.

This is a senior individual contributor role with no direct reports. It carries significant influence across the Workplace business and requires the ability to lead through expertise, credibility and customer trust rather than formal authority.

What you'll do

  • Support strategic bids, competitive pursuits and framework responses.
  • Own solution quality and governance during customer engagements.
  • Act as technical solution authority and thought leader throughout the sales lifecycle.
Solution Design and Architecture
  • Design end-to-end Workplace solutions aligned to customer business outcomes.
  • Develop integrated Workplace propositions spanning multiple technology domains, including vertical and sub-vertical focus.
  • Ensure solution designs align with Computacenter standards, partner roadmaps and industry good practice.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure solutions can be successfully implemented and supported.
  • Contribute to the creation and evolution of reference architectures, reusable assets and solution blueprints.
  • Engage directly with customer stakeholders, from technical teams through to CIO and CTO level.
  • Facilitate discovery workshops, executive briefings and strategic solution planning sessions.
  • Translate customer business requirements into clear technology solutions and roadmaps.
  • Present and defend solution recommendations to customer decision-makers.
  • Build trusted adviser relationships with customer technology leaders.
  • Provide thought leadership and technical expertise across Intelligent Endpoints and Endpoint Management, Workplace AI and Copilot, Collaboration and Communications, Smart Spaces and Hybrid Workplace, Frontline Solutions, Secure Application Access, Digital Employee Experience, Workplace Analytics, Device Lifecycle Solutions, and Workplace Automation and Service Integration.
  • Maintain awareness of adjacent technologies including Cyber Security, Enterprise Networking, Cloud Infrastructure, Data and AI Platforms, Automation and Managed Services.
  • Contribute practical customer and market insight to the evolution of the Workplace Hot Topics strategy.
Business Development
  • Support pipeline creation activities, campaigns and customer propositions.
  • Identify customer opportunities and emerging market trends.
  • Assist sales teams in developing account growth strategies.
  • Contribute to proposition development, market positioning and go-to-market activity.
  • Support strategic partner engagement and joint opportunity development.
Technical Leadership and Community Influence
  • Act as a recognised technical leader within the Workplace organisation.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to Workplace Specialists, Architects and Consultants without formal line-management responsibility.
  • Share good practice, reusable assets and solution approaches across the team.
  • Support technical capability development and accreditation initiatives.
  • Contribute to recruitment through technical interviews and candidate assessment.
  • Drive consistency and quality across Workplace solution design activities.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous learning.
What you'll need
  • Typically 7-10+ years of experience in Workplace Solutions, End User Computing, Digital Workplace or enterprise IT.
  • Proven experience in a presales, solution architecture or consulting role.
  • Experience supporting large enterprise and public sector organisations.
  • Strong track record of developing complex technology solutions.
  • Experience in customer-facing technical leadership positions.
  • Demonstrable commercial awareness and bid support experience.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple technology disciplines and stakeholder groups.
Technical Knowledge
  • Strong expertise in several Workplace domains, combined with broad knowledge of the wider portfolio.
  • Demonstrable experience across Microsoft 365, Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Intune and Windows Enterprise, as well as Apple, Android and broader frontline and mobile solutions.
  • Endpoint management, virtual desktop technologies and device lifecycle services.
  • Digital Employee Experience platforms, analytics and experience measurement.
  • Collaboration, communications, smart meeting spaces and hybrid work technology.
  • Workplace security, identity and access management.
  • ServiceNow, workflow automation and cloud-based Workplace services.
  • Working understanding of Cyber Security, Enterprise Networking, Cloud Infrastructure, Data and AI, Automation and Managed Services.
Personal Attributes
  • Customer-focused with a consultative approach.
  • Strong technical credibility and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and storytelling skills.
  • Able to simplify complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
  • Able to influence and lead through expertise rather than formal authority.
  • Highly collaborative and capable of building consensus across virtual teams.
  • Comfortable operating in matrix and cross-functional environments.
  • Enthusiastic about innovation and emerging technologies.
  • Self-motivated, outcome-driven and comfortable operating at executive level.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capability.
Success Measures
  • Contribution to Workplace pipeline growth and strategic opportunity progression.
  • Technical success on strategic pursuits.
  • Customer satisfaction and stakeholder feedback.
  • Quality, consistency and deliverability of solution design.
  • Growth in Workplace services and proposition adoption.
  • Contribution to technical capability across the wider Workplace community.
  • Contribution to Workplace Hot Topics adoption and market relevance.
  • Strategic partner engagement and joint opportunity creation.
Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a highly credible Workplace technologist and customer-facing solution expert who combines deep technical expertise with excellent consultative selling skills. They are equally comfortable running a detailed technical workshop, presenting to a CIO, supporting a strategic bid, influencing portfolio direction and shaping future Workplace propositions.

Operating as a senior individual contributor, they lead through expertise, influence and customer trust rather than organisational hierarchy. They will have strong knowledge across modern Workplace technologies and understand how Workplace solutions connect with AI, Security, Cloud, Networking and Managed Services to deliver measurable business outcomes.
