Pre-Sales Engineer (Defence)

We have a new opportunity for a Pre-Sales Engineer, with a background in the Defence sector, to join our friendly team. Our offices are located conveniently close to Westminster, St James Park and Victoria stations, with considerable flexibility around working from home. What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you will have a wide range of responsibilities with significant personal growth opportunities. You will play a critical role in driving our sales efforts by providing technical expertise and support to our sales team and customers.

  1. Collaborating with our sales team to identify and qualify opportunities in the defence sector, leveraging your technical knowledge to assess feasibility and alignment with customer needs.
  2. Analysing customer requirements and developing customised technical solutions, including system architecture, integration strategies, and performance optimization.
  3. Providing technical support and guidance during the sales process, including responding to complex RFPs and RFIs with detailed technical documentation and specifications.
  4. Conducting technical presentations and demonstrations of Arqit's unique technology to potential customers.
  5. Working closely with our product management and software engineering teams to ensure our solutions align with market demands.
  6. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in the defence sector.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the defence industry.

  1. Background of success in a pre-sales or technical sales role, especially within the military/defence sector.
  2. Proficiency in technical documentation, system design, and integration methodologies.
  3. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to technical as well as non-technical audiences.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically.
  6. Willingness to travel as needed to support sales efforts and customer engagements.

Please note: the ability to work in the UK without restrictions, and the ability to gain UK security clearance are both essential.
