Job Description Summary:

Job Title: Pre-Sales Consultant - Embedded Finance

Salary: £76,000 – £93,000 (dependent on experience)

Locations: Basildon / Birmingham / Bristol / Edinburgh / Glasgow / Leeds / Manchester

Hours: Full-Time

Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, involving at least two days per week at one of our office sites or working at our client sites.

About This Opportunity:

Part of Lloyds Banking Group, Merchant Services provides Card Acquiring and Embedded Finance solutions. We partner with technology providers to create solutions that meet merchant needs. Merchant Services is a key team within LBG, contributing to Helping Britain Prosper and aiming to be #1 for service in Commercial Banking.

The Sales Engineering team supports our largest clients with pre-sale and post-sale support, understanding and solving client problems with standard or bespoke solutions.

The pre-sales consultant supports the sale of our acquiring platform and embedded finance solutions, mainly focusing on embedded finance but also having a working knowledge of payment providers.

You will collaborate with our commercial team to understand merchant needs and provide expert advice, demonstrating passion and a proactive approach in working with large clients from diverse sectors. Building strong relationships with clients, third parties, and internal teams is essential.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Support early engagement with potential clients by providing technical overviews.
  2. Guide merchants on implementation options, ensuring solutions meet needs and are compliant.
  3. Coordinate proposals and plans for seamless integrations, managing costs and expectations.
  4. Decide jointly with clients on implementation strategies to maximize benefits.
  5. Act as a technical expert for strategic growth projects.
  6. Use data and insights to recommend solutions to clients and stakeholders.
  7. Make operational and commercial judgments on system integrations and industry changes.
  8. Work with our Lab team to develop custom solutions when out-of-the-box options do not suffice.

What You'll Need:

Experience in embedded finance, merchant acquiring, or payment gateways in a client-facing role is essential, with support provided for business understanding. Key skills include:

  • Experience working with corporate clients and partners, including third parties.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data.
  • Curiosity and tenacity in problem-solving.
  • Preparation of statistical data for presentations.
  • Ability to perform under pressure, negotiate, and communicate effectively.
