Job summary

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is recruiting for a Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Woolwich and University Hospital Lewisham. The role combines full-time work with study to gain a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Technician practice.

You will rotate through inpatient dispensary, outpatient services, ward-based medicines management, and stores, gaining hands-on experience under supervision while preparing for General Pharmaceutical Council

Qualifications

• 4 GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including English, Maths and one Science subject
• NVQ/BTEC Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent qualification
• Previous pharmacy or healthcare experience is desirable

Responsibilities

• Participate in a structured 2-year rotational training programme covering inpatient and outpatient dispensary services
• Dispense, supply and label medicines under supervision of registered staff
• Support medicines management on wards and in stores
• Learn to operate pharmacy IT systems and adhere to SOPs
• Balance study with work-based learning and maintain training records
