Job summary

Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust is recruiting for Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician Apprentices at University Hospital Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. This two-year fixed-term apprenticeship starts February 2027 and combines paid work with study toward the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmacy Technicians.

You will rotate through inpatient dispensary, outpatient pharmacy, community placements and medicines management, supported by a professional team.

Qualifications

• Two-year fixed-term apprenticeship commencing February 2027.
• Structured training leading to BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians.
• Rotation across inpatient dispensary, outpatient pharmacy, community placements, clinical trials, ward-based medicines management, stores and procurement.
• Must have GCSEs as stated and meet apprenticeship funding eligibility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support safe and effective use of medicines while developing professional and technical skills.
• Work alongside pharmacists and other healthcare professionals within a busy hospital setting.

Education

GCSEs (4/C or above) including English, Maths and at least one Science subject
