Job summary

NCIC in Carlisle is recruiting for a Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (PTPT) on a 2-year fixed-term apprenticeship. The role leads to a BTEC Level 3 Diploma and requires weekly distance learning with Bradford College, plus workplace assessments.

You will register with the GPhC on completion. The role supports medicines supply, stock control, and ward-based services, with training to check dispensed medicines accurately.

Responsibilities

• Support medicines supply and optimisation across the Trust.
• Dispense prescriptions and issue prescribed items.
• Contribute to all aspects of pharmaceutical stock control and ward-based services.
• Gain experience on hospital inpatient wards delivering pharmacy services and educate patients.
• Achieve final accuracy checks on dispensed medicines and products.
