Job summary

Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting two Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technicians for a fixed-term, two-year apprenticeship at the Bristol Royal Infirmary (City Site). This programme prepares you for registration as a Pharmacy Technician in a supportive learning environment.

Enjoy rotations across clinical services, dispensaries, purchasing, and more, gaining qualifications and hands-on experience to advance patient care. Apply by February 2027; eligibility includes GCSEs and UK work rights.

Qualifications

• 4 GCSE passes at grade C or 4 and above including Maths, English and Science.
• Desirable: A-levels or above in any subject.
• NVQ Level 2 certificate in pharmacy service skills.
• Good literacy and numeracy; computer literate.
• Understanding of confidentiality and patient data.

Responsibilities

• Dispensing and final accuracy checking.
• Ordering and receiving pharmaceutical stock (stock management).
• Working in a clinical environment including Medicines Reconciliation and checking patients' own medication.
• Supporting other pharmacy services within the department.
• Off-the-job training to develop skills required for a pharmacy technician role.
