Job summary

Powys Teaching Health Board invites applications for a fixed term training contract of 24 months to train as a pharmacy technician with the GPhC.

The role provides hospital-based dispensing for in-patients, ward-based work, and potential multisector rotations, including community pharmacy. A requirement to travel across Powys may apply; Welsh or English speakers are welcome, with Welsh ability considered desirable.

Job description

This post is a fixed term training contract of 24 months. The training post provides the opportunity to gain the required experience and qualification(s) needed to register as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

We are looking for forward thinking, enthusiastic, organised and motivated individuals to join our dynamic Pharmacy Team at Powys Teaching Health Board.

The role of the Pharmacy technician is varied and interesting and continuously growing which is why we are offering this opportunity to explore some of these innovative roles in a rotational training programme. You will gain experience in a hospital setting, dispensing for in-patients and undertaking ward based work. There may be a requirement for multisector working, for example, working in a community pharmacy. Ability to travel throughout Powys on a daily basis will be required.

Salary

Initially Annex 21 Band 4 - 70%, progressing to 75% after 12 months.
